Lauren Luján is a dedicated natural sciences researcher, experienced educator, and impactful program administrator, proudly serving The Pathway Initiative in dual capacities. Raised in a bicultural household in Costa Rica, Lauren’s unique upbringing fostered a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives and a commitment to global well-being. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of South Florida and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Integrated Watershed Management from CATIE, a leading institution in sustainable development located in Costa Rica.
Lauren’s scientific journey includes significant contributions as a Biological Scientist, where her expertise in proteomics, genomics, and cellular biology led to published research focused on drug development for respiratory diseases. Beyond the laboratory, her passion for science and language education shines through her extensive work as a tutor and professor, effectively translating complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences. Her bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish further strengthens her ability to connect and collaborate across communities.
